What is included in your room rate?

A lot. When you book directly with us they always include the following, for 2 people:
– your bedroom
– breakfast, a la carte from the kitchen
– elevenses (at 11), a hot or cold tonic and something tasty to nibble
– English wine at 5, a glass of our favourite English wine
– anything you want from our dinner menu, three courses
– all Experience classes, they are all free, one or lots
– access to book a treatment in the spa

What are the check in and check out times?

Our check in time is 4pm and check out 11am. If you would like to have an early check in or late check out please contact us by email before your stay so we can help organise this.

How do I book a class or treatment?

When you book to come to stay we will send you an email that will have all the links you need to book everything. The same when you join to become a member.

Are dogs allowed at the Gallivant / on the beach?

Dogs are allowed in the bar area and in a few of our bedrooms. They are also allowed on the beach all year round but in the summer only to the right hand side of the beach as you walk onto it from in front of us.

Where is the nearest station / How long is the train journey from London?

In Rye, 4 miles away. There is a high speed train from London St Pancras every hour. It takes 1 hour 9 minutes, change at Ashford International.

What are the Dining Room opening times?

Breakfast 8am – 10am
Lunch 1pm – 2.30pm
Dinner 6.30pm – 9pm

 

Do your rooms have a sea view?

Our rooms do not have sea views, however our hotel lies just a short walk over the dunes onto the beach which stretches as far as the eyes can see.

Do you have a car park; can the car park be used before check-in?

Our carpark is a modest size and for guests only so this would be subject to availability on the day, but we would do our upmost to find you space.  You are very welcome to come early and have lunch while we make up your room.

Is there anywhere to store luggage?

We have limited storage areas where we can hold bags for a few of hours.

Can we do two treatments at the same time?

At the moment the Beach Hut is only designed for one.

Do you have twin rooms?

All our bedrooms have King or Super King beds in them and we can easily make your bed Italian style using two separate single duvets.

Accessibility?

There is wheelchair access to the Dining room, Bar, Snug, Summer House and Terrace. Some of our rooms are more spacious than others and most are accessible step free. The coastal garden has gravel paths. For more details please email us at reservations@thegallivant.co.uk.

Do all bedrooms have baths?

All the Luxury Garden and Baby Hampton and Large Hampton rooms have a bath as does one of the Deck rooms. The Snug Cabin and Garden rooms all have walk in showers. If you would specially like to have a bath please email us at reservations@thegallivant.co.uk.

How far is Rye? Is it walking distance?

Rye is 4 miles away. 10 mins by car and approximately 1 hour on foot. It’s a lovely walk along a path and then over the salts to the town. We can arrange taxis with an hours notice.

Can I get a taxi from the station?

There are local taxis and we’d be delighted to help organise one in advance. If you aren’t sure of your plans give these a call;

Why don’t you accept children?

Our purpose at the Gallivant is ‘to restore people’s happiness and wellbeing’. We do this by creating a relaxing place for our guests to retreat to that is very calm and considered, with incredibly comfortable beds, exquisitely simple food, happy team members and inspirational experiences to connect with.  We decided some time ago that young people don’t always help with this philosophy so decided to welcome everyone over the age of 16.

How many people can stay in my room?

We don’t have any family rooms. All our bedrooms have King or Super King beds and are strictly for 2 adults. The Baby Hampton and Large Hampton rooms have day beds which can be made up for one extra person but this must be confirmed and paid at the time of booking.
