We stayed for the night for Valentines, opting for the full Gallivant experience including breakfast and also had the special Valentines menu.
We were welcomed very warmly by Lindsay who gave us a useful tour. The bedroom was a tad small for our tastes but beautifully fitted out and furnished. If it had not been raining we would have enjoyed our little private terrace.
The provisiion ofteas and coffees in the excellent lounge areas was great and we liked that there were games and plenty of interesting reading matter. The included cake for residents was delicious and the included glass each of Flint Dry White Wine from Chapel Down was appreciated. We enjoyed our cocktails and took advantage of the Oyster Happy Hour. The range of high quality English spirits was impressive.
The valentines menu was excellent with a magnificent duck main course. Some great wines too from a very good list with loads of English wines.
Our breakfast was one of the best we have ever had anywhere (and we have had a lot!) and the granola superb. We bought some to take away.
Sevice was excellent and charming throughout.
Lindsay the customer service manager was absolutely brilliant, very charming and very funny. She is a credit to the business. Also the chap on the bar (Turkish, ddn't get his name) and breakfast service was really good.
We really like the sustainable local sourcing ethos and things like the Belu water. Very much to be applauded.
Well done altogether. We will return!
