Thank you all very much for our lovely stay at The Gallivant. We really appreciated the upgrade to one of your garden rooms – it was great to have books to browse and the super bath, plenty of hot water and bath salts all added to our relaxing stay. Dinners in The Cabin were delicious and the ambience was warm and cosy. We really appreciated the fantastic English wine tasting organised at short notice by Jonathan and indeed some of the wines were a revelation! We will certainly recommend to friends. Sue

The staff make this hotel very friendly and accommodating , food was excellent , breakfast great choice and love all the extra touches like the wine o’clock and the bedtime hot herbal tea and pillow spray and candle etc was a lovely room very clean and couldn’t fault it just in 2nd night at turndown they didn’t change our towels but that didn’t spoil anything loved ut

I had such a wonderful time at The Gallivant, I feel so refreshed thanks to the beautiful location and incredible staff who were kind and welcoming. My trip was even more special thanks to Evelyn, Lindsay, Naketa and Katie.

Evelyn is a superstar and brilliant at her job – she made my trip even better. We clicked straight away and she made me laugh and feel welcome, she's such a lovely person and an asset to The Gallivant. Also, a huge thank you to Lindsay for upgrading me to the Luxury Garden room – that bathtub was a dream! Naketa was so friendly, helpful and funny. Katie is such a sweet human! I don't usually practice yoga and she made me feel so comfortable and stayed to chat afterwards. If I was local, I'd be at her classes all the time!

Camber Sands is a new favourite place and I'd love to revisit The Gallivant. Thank you so much for making the trip so memorable for me! Tori 🙂

Stayed one night in January. Big mistake – should have stayed more! Beautiful "Hampton"bedroom. Comfortable public lounge filled with interesting books and magazines. Relaxed, friendly staff who were very helpful and professional. The 5pm welcome wine was nice touch and much appreciated. Freezing sleet curtailed our enjoyment of the sand dunes and Camber Sands; but we loved our brief stay.

Thank you all very much for our lovely stay at The Gallivant. We really appreciated the upgrade to one of your garden rooms – it was great to have books to browse and the super bath, plenty of hot water and bath salts all added to our relaxing stay. Dinners in The Cabin were delicious and the ambience was warm and cosy. I had such a wonderful time at The Gallivant, I feel so refreshed thanks to the beautiful location and incredible staff who were kind and welcoming. My trip was even more special thanks to Evelyn, Lindsay, Naketa and Katie.

What is included your room rate?

Depends what room rate you have booked….

The Essential Gallivant includes a simple continental style breakfast, House supper or £15 credit per person towards our a la carte menu, English Wine at 5 – a glass of English wine to enjoy and whatever wellness class(es) are on that day, normally yoga.

The Complete Gallivant also includes a much more amazing breakfast of cooked dishes from the kitchen, three courses from our a la carte at dinner and We Have Drift Off sleepy time tea by your bed at bedtime.

What are the check in and check out times?

Our check in time is 4pm and check out 11am. If you would like to come earlier (or stay later) to have lunch or a drink at the bar that’s absolutely fine. You can either leave your bags in the car or we’ll look after them until your bedroom is ready or you’re ready to go.

Are dogs allowed at the Gallivant / on the beach?

Yes, but we only allow smallish dogs, so nothing bigger than a spaniel please. They are allowed in the bar area and in four of our bedrooms.  They are also allowed on the beach all year round.

Where is the nearest station / How long is the train journey from London?

In Rye, 4 miles away. There is a high speed train from London St Pancras every hour. It takes 1 hour 9 minutes, change at Ashford International.

What are the Dining Room opening times?

Breakfast     8am to 11am
Day, Mon to Fri     1.00pm to 2.30pm
Weekend lunch     1.00pm to 3.00pm
Dinner   6.00pm to 9.00pm

Can I charge my car?

Yes, we have two car charging points.  If you are coming to stay and would like to reserve one please email reservations@thegallivant.co.uk
