Actually 4.5 stars but can’t do that!!! Lovely stay with you for our short break. Hotel was great, room (upgraded😀) spacious and very tastefully decorated. You were full of nice touches to make our stay even nicer – for example welcome biscuits in the room, drift off tea time and wine tasting. All really goes into a good experience. Staff attentive and helpful no issues at all. Like the informal set up.

One thing. Food. Breakfast is too elaborate for us. After a great sophisticated dinner we Could have done with simple, traditional hot options for those who like a staple start to the day…no everyone wants haute cuisine all the time.

Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Thanks again

We had a lovely stay, our rooms were immaculate and extremely comfortable, the food was delicious and served much more promptly than a lunch I had in October. The yoga was good. Atmosphere and staff were friendly and helpful but not too over bearing. The only thing I can complain about was that I had 17 emails over a one night stay, this is excessive.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Gallivant. We had a truly fantastic stay, and can't wait to return. In no particular order…

The food was exceptional. Food is my absolute passion and a huge part of what makes me happy when I am staying away from home. We both could not have been more impressed. I have a severe gluten allergy but my dishes were no less delicious for it. That is often not the case and I really appreciated not feeling like I was missing out.

The service is absolutely perfect. By perfect I mean genuine, friendly and warm. It is clear that the people who work at the Gallivant, want to do so.

The rooms are just lovely, with everything you need and nothing you don't need! Great hairdryer (very important!), gorgeous bedding, full size products in the bathroom (nothing is more frustrating than a tiny bottle of conditioner when you have long hair!), TV with everything you could want and lastly, a nice warm space to go back to. Faultless.

The little extras are a great touch (bedtime drinks and 5pm wine).

Overall the Gallivant really blew us away and I shall be returning with my partner, hopefully in early April.

Please don't change a thing – you have the perfect hotel!

What is included your room rate?

Depends what room rate you have booked….

The Essential Gallivant includes a simple continental style breakfast, House supper or £15 credit per person towards our a la carte menu, English Wine at 5 – a glass of English wine to enjoy and whatever wellness class(es) are on that day, normally yoga.

The Complete Gallivant also includes a much more amazing breakfast of cooked dishes from the kitchen, three courses from our a la carte at dinner and We Have Drift Off sleepy time tea by your bed at bedtime.

What are the check in and check out times?

Our check in time is 4pm and check out 11am. If you would like to come earlier (or stay later) to have lunch or a drink at the bar that’s absolutely fine. You can either leave your bags in the car or we’ll look after them until your bedroom is ready or you’re ready to go.

Are dogs allowed at the Gallivant / on the beach?

Yes, but we only allow smallish dogs, so nothing bigger than a spaniel please. They are allowed in the bar area and in four of our bedrooms.  They are also allowed on the beach all year round.

Where is the nearest station / How long is the train journey from London?

In Rye, 4 miles away. There is a high speed train from London St Pancras every hour. It takes 1 hour 9 minutes, change at Ashford International.

What are the Dining Room opening times?

Breakfast     8am to 11am
Day, Mon to Fri     1.00pm to 2.30pm
Weekend lunch     1.00pm to 3.00pm
Dinner   6.00pm to 9.00pm

Can I charge my car?

Yes, we have two car charging points.  If you are coming to stay and would like to reserve one please email reservations@thegallivant.co.uk
