We had a brilliant stay here, as usual. The staff all loved Luna (our black lab puppy) and a special mention to Naketa who helped me out before our stay …

We had a brilliant stay here, as usual. The staff all loved Luna (our black lab puppy) and a special mention to Naketa who helped me out before our stay (we made several changes) as well as on check out. She was polite and professional and it was nice to meet a genuinely friendly and humorous person. And also to Anna, who made breakfast a very good experience indeed.

experience we had while staying with you.
Monty made us very welcomed when we arrived …

Well what can we say but a big thankyou to the Gallivant for a truly lovely
experience we had while staying with you.
Monty made us very welcomed when we arrived and escorted us to our beautiful room ( Shannon ).
We loved the decor and theme of the hotel and the ambience it gave off,perfect.
All the staff made us feel at home so hats off to you all.
Anna for bringing sunshine to our breakfast, Jonathan for his good bar service,
Paul for guiding us through the wine list, Elton for his attention and Jamie and his staff for the lovely food and of course the lovely gardens tended by Fiona.
We will return

It's difficult to single out anyone we met during our second stay at The Gallivant. They have the best team of any hotel we've stayed at. Great service from Louisa, Jonathan, Monty, and a nice cheerful greeting from Carolyn in the corridor! Naketa gave us a great welcome and showed us to our beautiful room and it was great to chat to Paul B – he really knows the local scene and wines. And of course Elton, who is a star and remembered us from our stay last summer. We will be back.

We really enjoyed our stay! The food and drink was excellent as were all of the staff – we could not fault the service in any way! All …

We really enjoyed our stay! The food and drink was excellent as were all of the staff – we could not fault the service in any way! All the staff were lovely and super helpful! The only thing missing was a couple sun loungers in the garden – we feel sure you could squeeze some in!

We had a truly WONDERFUL stay – it was so relaxing and we were very impressed with both the place and the staff.

We had a truly WONDERFUL stay – it was so relaxing and we were very impressed with both the place and the staff.

Room was excellent – decor original and interesting and overall ambiance totally delightful. We will certainly come again in a few months time.

All staff were attentive and professional but the two who we interacted with most deserve a special mention – Elton and Crystal.

Only one tiny detail that I’d have found helpful …, some easy way of removing the sleepy tea bag from my cup at nighttime when the string fell in ! 🙏🏻- maybe a little wooden stirrer stick or recyclable bamboo tea spoon ?

But TOP marks on all counts. LOVED it all !

What is included your room rate?

Depends what room rate you have booked….

The Essential Gallivant includes a simple continental style breakfast, House supper or £15 credit per person towards our a la carte menu, English Wine at 5 – a glass of English wine to enjoy and whatever wellness class(es) are on that day, normally yoga.

The Complete Gallivant also includes a much more amazing breakfast of cooked dishes from the kitchen, three courses from our a la carte at dinner and We Have Drift Off sleepy time tea by your bed at bedtime.

What are the check in and check out times?

Our check in time is 4pm and check out 11am. If you would like to come earlier (or stay later) to have lunch or a drink at the bar that’s absolutely fine. You can either leave your bags in the car or we’ll look after them until your bedroom is ready or you’re ready to go.

Are dogs allowed at the Gallivant / on the beach?

Yes, but we only allow smallish dogs, so nothing bigger than a spaniel please. They are allowed in the bar area and in four of our bedrooms.  They are also allowed on the beach all year round.

Where is the nearest station / How long is the train journey from London?

In Rye, 4 miles away. There is a high speed train from London St Pancras every hour. It takes 1 hour 9 minutes, change at Ashford International.

What are the Dining Room opening times?

Breakfast     8am to 11am
Day, Mon to Fri     1.00pm to 2.30pm
Weekend lunch     1.00pm to 3.00pm
Dinner   6.00pm to 9.00pm

Can I charge my car?

Yes, we have two car charging points.  If you are coming to stay and would like to reserve one please email reservations@thegallivant.co.uk
