Hadn’t tried Gusborne before and really enjoyed it
The area of Camber seems a bit tired which is a shame but in the Gallivant bubble it was delightful!

Wonderful stay in a gorgeous hotel. Very relaxing trip. Staff were brilliant and very attentive. Great that you have a vegetarian menu – a rare find!

What can I say…..I loved it, love the gallivant, love the people that work there and Pippa was incredible… I’d defo book another retreat with her.

What can I say…..I loved it, love the gallivant, love the people that work there and Pippa was incredible… I’d defo book another retreat with her.

Only thing was my room- I stayed for two nights- 1st night was great, but 2nd night I had to upgrade to another room which felt like an expensive upgrade as the windows didn’t open, shower leaked all over the floor and the mattress defo needs changing… didnt sleep well at all.

Really excellent stay. Cosy rooms, dog-friendly, all staff very welcoming and helpful. Enjoyed the food at dinner, the 5PM wine tasting was a nice touch. Had a lovely massage at the start of our two-day stay – my wife enjoyed a private yoga session! Access to the beach was convenient. Overall, relaxing and easy to unwind.

We loved our stay at The Gallivant over the weekend.

A few bits of feedback :
If there was one thing I could change it would be not having to book a specific time slot for breakfast.

My guess is that booking a time slot ensures that the kitchen can keep up with the freshly-cooked options on the menu. Personally, I would have preferred a larger "from the table" selection with no cooked option if it allowed me to arrive at breakfast whenever I wanted.

Charging for a cappuccino at breakfast felt a little unnecessary too. Perhaps you could limit it to a single coffee per guest?

Finally, I found the Tock booking system for The Full Gallivant rather confusing for Special Events. It didn't seem to have any of the Special Events listed in the week leading up to our weekend (11/12 Dec). Not a major thing but this process didn't seem very easy to me.

Otherwise lovely. All staff were excellent, massage brilliant, food & rooms delightful. A fab weekend to ease into Christmas 🙂

What is included your room rate?

Depends what room rate you have booked….

The Essential Gallivant includes a simple continental style breakfast, House supper or £15 credit per person towards our a la carte menu, English Wine at 5 – a glass of English wine to enjoy and whatever wellness class(es) are on that day, normally yoga.

The Complete Gallivant also includes a much more amazing breakfast of cooked dishes from the kitchen, three courses from our a la carte at dinner and We Have Drift Off sleepy time tea by your bed at bedtime.

What are the check in and check out times?

Our check in time is 4pm and check out 11am. If you would like to come earlier (or stay later) to have lunch or a drink at the bar that’s absolutely fine. You can either leave your bags in the car or we’ll look after them until your bedroom is ready or you’re ready to go.

Are dogs allowed at the Gallivant / on the beach?

Yes, but we only allow smallish dogs, so nothing bigger than a spaniel please. They are allowed in the bar area and in four of our bedrooms.  They are also allowed on the beach all year round.

Where is the nearest station / How long is the train journey from London?

In Rye, 4 miles away. There is a high speed train from London St Pancras every hour. It takes 1 hour 9 minutes, change at Ashford International.

What are the Dining Room opening times?

Breakfast     8am to 11am
Day, Mon to Fri     1.00pm to 2.30pm
Weekend lunch     1.00pm to 3.00pm
Dinner   6.00pm to 9.00pm

Can I charge my car?
