2023 has been the toughest and most challenging year yet as my wife has been very poorly so we booked an escape …

The Galivant really is a unique hidden gem.
2023 has been the toughest and most challenging year yet as my wife has been very poorly so we booked an escape away on Thursday 13th December to unwind and breathe in the ocean air.
We could not have found a more beautiful place to recharge and reset and the staff went above and beyond to provide an exceptional service making us feel like the only guests in the world.
Hamesh met us at reception and was a pleasure to deal with as so hospitable, calm and kind. What a lovely genuine chap and a credit to the Galivant. Kerry was looking after us at the bar and in the restaurant and again such a kind lovely lady who clearly had fallen in love with this special beautiful place. The cherry on the cake was meeting Nico who delivered the best 3 x courses we have ever had and really brought home that cooking is an expression of love and you can see and taste that in his dishes. Nico even took the time to meet us and share some of his experiences.
You could just tell how passionate the staff are about the Galivant and all proud to work at this unique place and this shone through by the service provided. We even met the beautiful cocker spaniel pup Copper. The Galivant staff provide a first class service which is full of kindness and love.
The location is also spectacular and walking along the beach seeing the sun rise after a beautiful fresh breakfast is memories me and my wife will have and treasure forever.
The Galivant holds a special place in our hearts as was the perfect retreat and getaway after a long tough year and we definitely left this place feeling stronger, more positive and ready to embrace life and create many more magical memories in 2024.
Thank you so much Hamesh, Kerry, Nico, Copper and all the wonderful staff at the Galivant and you will definitely see us return in 2024 with our cocker Soanirl. We have already started spreading the word as I know our friends and family will be as equally impressed with this hidden treasure. Merry Christmas all and see you in 2024. Thank you

We loved our stay at The Gallivant so much! Everything about it was perfect. They were so welcoming and friendly. Our room was immaculate and the food and drinks 10/10. Would recommend going during the festive period as it was so cosy with the tree and fire etc and not that busy. Would 100% come again!

What is included your room rate?

Depends what room rate you have booked….

The Essential Gallivant includes a simple continental style breakfast, House supper or £15 credit per person towards our a la carte menu, English Wine at 5 – a glass of English wine to enjoy and whatever wellness class(es) are on that day, normally yoga.

The Complete Gallivant also includes a much more amazing breakfast of cooked dishes from the kitchen, three courses from our a la carte at dinner and We Have Drift Off sleepy time tea by your bed at bedtime.

What are the check in and check out times?

Our check in time is 4pm and check out 11am. If you would like to come earlier (or stay later) to have lunch or a drink at the bar that’s absolutely fine. You can either leave your bags in the car or we’ll look after them until your bedroom is ready or you’re ready to go.

Are dogs allowed at the Gallivant / on the beach?

Yes, but we only allow smallish dogs, so nothing bigger than a spaniel please. They are allowed in the bar area and in four of our bedrooms.  They are also allowed on the beach all year round.

Where is the nearest station / How long is the train journey from London?

In Rye, 4 miles away. There is a high speed train from London St Pancras every hour. It takes 1 hour 9 minutes, change at Ashford International.

What are the Dining Room opening times?

Breakfast     8am to 11am
Day, Mon to Fri     1.00pm to 2.30pm
Weekend lunch     1.00pm to 3.00pm
Dinner   6.00pm to 9.00pm

Can I charge my car?

Yes, we have two car charging points.  If you are coming to stay and would like to reserve one please email reservations@thegallivant.co.uk
