We absolutely loved our stay at The Gallivant and wished we'd booked a little longer. The room was much bigger than we'd anticipated and all the extra touches such as the wine hour, elevenses and bedtime brew were really appreciated. Everyone we spoke to was wonderfully welcoming – Corey greeted us and was completely charming. We didn't catch the names of the sommelier and the lovely lady who served us at breakfast on Friday morning but they stood out as well. Have already recommended The Gallivant to a friend and pretty sure we'll be returning too. Thank you!

My husband, myself and our dog, white boxer Ludo, have just spent a lovely couple of days at the Gallivant. We are really impressed with the quality of the hotel and restaurant! A wonderfully relaxed yet professional atmosphere and lovely little touches like the tea at nighttime and the shower products in the room. From the moment we entered, the staff were so friendly and warm, Crystal took good care of us to begin with. And I want to give a big shout out to Lucy in the restaurant and the kitchen team for being reassuringly knowledgable and allowing me all the taste sensations I did. Being celiac, dairy free and soy free is annoying for eating out and often the choices are limited, if any. I hate to fuss, and there was no fuss! Just willingness to help me enjoy the amazing food. I am really grateful for that. This was also Ludo’s first hotel stay and he received lots of compliments on being calm and relaxed. Much of that was down to the environment I’m certain, and if my dog is happy, so am I! Thank you team Gallivant.

Wow! What an amazing experience your team gave us over the last couple of days for our spontaneous break. Everything was perfect from start to finish. You really do have a special bunch of people working at the Galivant. Naketa was delightful on the phone taking the booking. Monty and Paul gave us a warm welcome and made us feel super relaxed and looked after within minutes of arriving and away from our stressful lives. Our lunch served by Elton was delicious with two of the best bloody mary's we've ever had. Dinner was a treat served by lovely Lucy, whose enthusiasm for the food was infectious. It was also a delight to meet Lindsay and talk dogs! And finally being served breakfast this morning by Anna and her wonderful smile was the best end to our perfect mini break. My husband has asked if we can move in! Can't wait to come back xxxx

The is was our 5th time at The Gallivant over 6 years and it’s been yet another wonderful break. We have seen the service improve each time we visit. Being gluten free due to a serious illness I have seen your dietary requirements improve by offering more choice each time we visit too. It almost feels unfair to pick out individuals who have been outstanding as everyone is lovely however we would like to mention:
Naketa- warm, friendly and engaging. The dog misses her already!
Carey: down to earth yet professional in every way
Anna: as always making breakfast a wonderful experience
Carolyn: every morning a lovely smile greeting us

We can’t wait to be back again soon.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Gallivant and wished we'd booked a little longer. My husband, myself and our dog, white boxer Ludo, have just spent a lovely couple of days at the Gallivant. We are really impressed with the quality of the hotel and restaurant! Wow! What an amazing experience your team gave us over the last couple of days for our spontaneous break. Everything was perfect from start to finish. What is included your room rate?

Depends what room rate you have booked….

The Essential Gallivant includes a simple continental style breakfast, House supper or £15 credit per person towards our a la carte menu, English Wine at 5 – a glass of English wine to enjoy and whatever wellness class(es) are on that day, normally yoga.

The Complete Gallivant also includes a much more amazing breakfast of cooked dishes from the kitchen, three courses from our a la carte at dinner and We Have Drift Off sleepy time tea by your bed at bedtime.

What are the check in and check out times?

Our check in time is 4pm and check out 11am. If you would like to come earlier (or stay later) to have lunch or a drink at the bar that’s absolutely fine. You can either leave your bags in the car or we’ll look after them until your bedroom is ready or you’re ready to go.

Are dogs allowed at the Gallivant / on the beach?

Yes, but we only allow smallish dogs, so nothing bigger than a spaniel please. They are allowed in the bar area and in four of our bedrooms.  They are also allowed on the beach all year round.

Where is the nearest station / How long is the train journey from London?

In Rye, 4 miles away. There is a high speed train from London St Pancras every hour. It takes 1 hour 9 minutes, change at Ashford International.

What are the Dining Room opening times?

Breakfast     8am to 11am
Day, Mon to Fri     1.00pm to 2.30pm
Weekend lunch     1.00pm to 3.00pm
Dinner   6.00pm to 9.00pm

Can I charge my car?
