I absolutely loved my short stay with you. My welcome was exceptional by the lovely Corey who booked me in, Hamish who heard my Scottish accent and the lovely warm Maria. Every member of the team was fab and I must call out the excellent bar service and restaurant service. The food was delicious but it takes the environment, the culture for it to taste that bit more special. It did.
My room was lovely and bed/pillows very comfortable but would prefer a bit more privacy when sitting out in the garden, maybe some planting between the rooms to create the illusion of a divider? I loved the planting around the hotel. As I said everyone was great but my 2 call outs are, Corey who spotted me sitting on the bench out front when I couldn't join my friends on the beach (I'm recovering from 2 recent knee replacements) he went and got me a lovely glass of wine to enjoy. The other is Maria she was warm and friendly throughout by when I was leaving she gave me a lovely hug as I was explaining that as well as my recent operations that my mum died a couple of months ago so its been a very difficult time. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels and can honestly say this is the best service I've received. I could happily have stayed longer. Thank you xx

Thank you all for looking after us so well on Friday. The service was excellent throughout the day. It would be unfair to single one person out as everyone was so helpful and friendly. I would however like to thank your Night Porter in particular for his calmness and patience dealing with a young, energetic and fairly demanding team!!

Second stay and `we will be back and will also recommend to friends and family when the house we are building nearby is too full!

All staff were very helpful and efficient. In particular, Agnes, who found my husbands Mac charger left in the room and who is going to mail it to us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.The staff were all superb…friendly, attentive and extremely professional. The food was excellent, as was the dining experience. The hotel was really a calm and cool oasis during very hot weather and there was a lovely atmosphere throughout.
I would thoroughly recommend The Gallivant and we will visit again

I absolutely loved my short stay with you. My welcome was exceptional by the lovely Corey who booked me in, Hamish who heard my Scottish accent and the lovely warm Maria. What is included your room rate?

Depends what room rate you have booked….

The Essential Gallivant includes a simple continental style breakfast, House supper or £15 credit per person towards our a la carte menu, English Wine at 5 – a glass of English wine to enjoy and whatever wellness class(es) are on that day, normally yoga.

The Complete Gallivant also includes a much more amazing breakfast of cooked dishes from the kitchen, three courses from our a la carte at dinner and We Have Drift Off sleepy time tea by your bed at bedtime.

What are the check in and check out times?

Our check in time is 4pm and check out 11am. If you would like to come earlier (or stay later) to have lunch or a drink at the bar that’s absolutely fine. You can either leave your bags in the car or we’ll look after them until your bedroom is ready or you’re ready to go.

Are dogs allowed at the Gallivant / on the beach?

Yes, but we only allow smallish dogs, so nothing bigger than a spaniel please. They are allowed in the bar area and in four of our bedrooms.  They are also allowed on the beach all year round.

Where is the nearest station / How long is the train journey from London?

In Rye, 4 miles away. There is a high speed train from London St Pancras every hour. It takes 1 hour 9 minutes, change at Ashford International.

What are the Dining Room opening times?

Breakfast     8am to 11am
Day, Mon to Fri     1.00pm to 2.30pm
Weekend lunch     1.00pm to 3.00pm
Dinner   6.00pm to 9.00pm

Can I charge my car?
