We had the most amazing few days at the Gallivant. There are probably not enough superlatives to describe everything. The beautiful garden bedrooms, delicious food, trendy and comfortable lounge and bar. The lovely extra touches such as all day elevenses, wine at 5, tea at night – just made the whole experience so special. All the staff were professional, attentive and friendly- but special mention must go to Lyndsey who bent over backwards to ensure our stay over my birthday was very memorable. We also had a very informative session with Mark showing us how to make the perfect chocolate mousse. We are already planning our next trip back, and will bring our dog – she will just love it. Thank you Gallivant Team

My daughter and I had a fabulous time. We loved the beachy chic vibe and all the thoughtful touches such night time tea, beach towels, wellies, elevenses. The food was amazing – we love a small, thoughtful, local menu. Two staff who stood out for us were Daisy in the spa and India in the yoga studio, however everyone we encountered was unfailingly polite and friendly. It was a glorious mother-daughter weekend, made especially wonderful by our stylish surroundings and great food.

I was so well taken care of at The Gallivant – from providing me with a toothbrush to driving me to the train station to catch my train. It was so easy to relax there and I loved the little treats of elevenses and the 5pm wine. Thank you so much! I can't wait to come back 🙂

This was out third visit to the Gallivant . We were lucky to have the most beautiful January weather . As always the service , food & wines were excellent. …

This was out third visit to the Gallivant . We were lucky to have the most beautiful January weather . As always the service , food & wines were excellent. We thought the additional pricing for the shared dinner dishes were expensive but we avoided these! It was good to see a change to the meat choice day on day , a similar change to the fish would have been welcome but the John Dory was absolutely delicious. This time we were celebrating my wife’s Birthday and the various recognitions of this were much appreciated. Anna remains a wonderful breakfast host & Elton looked after us very well but all the staff were friendly, helpful & welcoming. The room (19) was immaculate. Michael

We had the most amazing few days at the Gallivant. There are probably not enough superlatives to describe everything. The beautiful garden bedrooms, delicious food, trendy and comfortable lounge and bar. My daughter and I had a fabulous time. We loved the beachy chic vibe and all the thoughtful touches such night time tea, beach towels, wellies, elevenses. The food was amazing – we love a small, thoughtful, local menu. What is included your room rate?

Depends what room rate you have booked….

The Essential Gallivant includes a simple continental style breakfast, House supper or £15 credit per person towards our a la carte menu, English Wine at 5 – a glass of English wine to enjoy and whatever wellness class(es) are on that day, normally yoga.

The Complete Gallivant also includes a much more amazing breakfast of cooked dishes from the kitchen, three courses from our a la carte at dinner and We Have Drift Off sleepy time tea by your bed at bedtime.

What are the check in and check out times?

Our check in time is 4pm and check out 11am. If you would like to come earlier (or stay later) to have lunch or a drink at the bar that’s absolutely fine. You can either leave your bags in the car or we’ll look after them until your bedroom is ready or you’re ready to go.

Are dogs allowed at the Gallivant / on the beach?

Yes, but we only allow smallish dogs, so nothing bigger than a spaniel please. They are allowed in the bar area and in four of our bedrooms.  They are also allowed on the beach all year round.

Where is the nearest station / How long is the train journey from London?

In Rye, 4 miles away. There is a high speed train from London St Pancras every hour. It takes 1 hour 9 minutes, change at Ashford International.

What are the Dining Room opening times?

Breakfast     8am to 11am
Day, Mon to Fri     1.00pm to 2.30pm
Weekend lunch     1.00pm to 3.00pm
Dinner   6.00pm to 9.00pm

Can I charge my car?

Yes, we have two car charging points.  If you are coming to stay and would like to reserve one please email reservations@thegallivant.co.uk
