Dear Gallivant,

We had two nights with you, to get all my family together and it was the best decision i made to come to your beautiful hotel. It really was an oasis with delicious food and English wine stunning bedrooms and really lovely friendly staff. I could not fault it and we will have the happiest of memories, so thank you all. The whole team at The Gallivant exceeded our expectations. Customer care is something that every team member (front of house, hospitality & cleaning teams) excelled in. Everyone was so friendly & always ready to help. There were some slight problems with our bill at the end of our stays but it was handled with ease & patience. Would highly recommend your beautiful & peaceful place to our friends & families. Thank you for having us!

We had an amazing stay – thank you all so much.

All the staff were lovely, but particularly thanks to Anna and her husband Elton who went ‘beyond’ with their care friendly welcome and helpfulness – they are a credit to you. Sorry that I didn’t catch her name – but the lady who appeared to be ‘in charge’ both evenings, was also lovely, very welcoming and knowledgeable.

Our room was beautiful, my only observation would be that the ‘mugs’ in the room without handles get too hot to touch if you have a hot drink! Immediately resolved by the team who gave me a proper mug to use – thank you.

The food (we had the “full galavant”) was outstanding. Particular highlights were the beetroot hummus and the breakfast bap.

I’m not a big fan of English wine, but it was lovely to try them – thank you.

Elevenses was modest, but what was served was lovely and refreshing.

We were here, after a very difficult year thus far, for total relaxation- and that’s what we got. We spent a lot of time in the garden, just sitting reading etc enjoying the beautiful garden shade and the sea breeze.

The staff were (without fault) friendly welcoming and a particularly nice touch that they remembered our names.

What is included your room rate?

Depends what room rate you have booked….

The Essential Gallivant includes a simple continental style breakfast, House supper or £15 credit per person towards our a la carte menu, English Wine at 5 – a glass of English wine to enjoy and whatever wellness class(es) are on that day, normally yoga.

The Complete Gallivant also includes a much more amazing breakfast of cooked dishes from the kitchen, three courses from our a la carte at dinner and We Have Drift Off sleepy time tea by your bed at bedtime.

What are the check in and check out times?

Our check in time is 4pm and check out 11am. If you would like to come earlier (or stay later) to have lunch or a drink at the bar that’s absolutely fine. You can either leave your bags in the car or we’ll look after them until your bedroom is ready or you’re ready to go.

Are dogs allowed at the Gallivant / on the beach?

Yes, but we only allow smallish dogs, so nothing bigger than a spaniel please. They are allowed in the bar area and in four of our bedrooms.  They are also allowed on the beach all year round.

Where is the nearest station / How long is the train journey from London?

In Rye, 4 miles away. There is a high speed train from London St Pancras every hour. It takes 1 hour 9 minutes, change at Ashford International.

What are the Dining Room opening times?

Breakfast     8am to 11am
Day, Mon to Fri     1.00pm to 2.30pm
Weekend lunch     1.00pm to 3.00pm
Dinner   6.00pm to 9.00pm

Can I charge my car?
