My wife and I stayed for the first time at The Gallivant for one night in March to celebrate her birthday.
We were warmly welcomed in reception by Lucy and she happily showed us the restaurant, bar and lounge areas. Then to our room, which was the luxury garden room. Immediately the cares of life slid away, and we settled into enjoying the lovely room, beautiful surroundings and relaxed, peaceful, spa like atmosphere.
English wine at five in the bar area was a lovely treat. Again, Lucy was knowledgable about the wine we were sampling, and the crisps and olives we were offered made it even more enjoyable.
Dinner service was equally pleasurable. The wine list at TG is impressive, making it a challenge not to get carried away! The menu consisted of a choice selection of good quality dishes and we very much enjoyed our meal. Service was attentive but unhurried.
In the morning, Anna greeted us in the restaurant with an infectious smile and joyfully made sure we were looked after. Again, the menu choice for breakfast was excellent.
After breakfast we checked out of our room. The weather wasn’t great so we decided not to walk along the beach. Instead, we relaxed in the lounge, which has had huge efforts put in to make it a lovely place to just be.
A very enjoyable stay. A great deal of thought and care has gone into creating this place, and we appreciated every moment.
We would highly recommend it to our friends, and look forward to visiting again in the future.
